Scientists at MIT have developed a new drug that fights viruses as effectively as antibiotics like penicillin dispatch bacteria. The broad-spectrum treatment is designed to trigger cell suicide in cells that have been invaded by a virus, thereby halting infection, while leaving healthy cells alone.

In lab tests using animal and human cells, the new therapy was effective against 15 viruses, including the common cold, H1N1 influenza, dengue fever, polio virus, a stomach virus and several types of hemorrhagic fever. “In theory, it should work against all viruses,” said Todd Rider, a senior staff scientist in Lincoln Laboratory’s Chemical, Biological, and Nanoscale Technologies Group at MIT, who invented the new technology.

The drug works by using human cells’ natural defense systems against viral infection. When a virus infects a healthy cell, it takes over the cell’s machinery for its own purposes: to replicate. In the process, the virus produces long strands of double-stranded RNA, or dsRNA — the telltale mark of an infected cell.

Eventually, once the virus has finished replicating, it will kill off its host cell and move on.

To fight infection, human cells have proteins that attach to dsRNA and trigger a cascade of reactions that stop viruses from copying themselves. Rider had the idea to combine one of these proteins with yet another protein that induces cells to commit suicide, a process known as apoptosis.

The end result is a drug called DRACO (for double-stranded RNA activated caspase oligomerizers). When one end of DRACO binds to dsRNA, it signals the other end of DRACO to initiate apoptosis, killing cells before the virus has a chance to replicate.

“Viruses are pretty good at developing resistance to things we try against them, but in this case, it’s hard to think of a simple pathway to drug resistance,” said Karla Kirkegaard, a professor of microbiology and immunology at Stanford University.

In lab experiments, DRACO cured mice that had been infected with the H1N1 flu virus. The researchers think the treatment could potentially be used to thwart outbreaks of new viruses like the one that causes SARS.

The scientists are currently testing DRACO against more viruses in mice and said they hope to license the technology for trials in larger animals someday in humans.

The results were published in the online medical journal PLOS One.

It is the name of the drug that has me somewhat concerned; DRACO.

In Christianity the idea is common due to the presence, seemingly, of two different gods in the Christian Bible. In the Christian Old Testament there is YHVH, the ineffable God of the Hebrews who selects them as His chosen people – and no other – and who, while merciful and slow to anger, is also violent and vengeful. Then there is the god of the Christian New Testament, represented by Jesus. This god is loving, kind, merciful, never (or rarely) violent, vengeful, and so on.

There have been attempts to reconcile these two depictions of the Christian idea of God and one of the earliest came from Marcion of Sinope; this idea would come to be known as Marcionism. Marcion proposed that there were actually two different gods: the true god, represented by Jesus in the New Testament; and the Hebrew god who was a separate and lower entity than Jesus and the god he represented.

In this idea, Marcionism shares a link with Christian Gnosticism. Christian Gnosticism is a separate following which believes that Jesus, as a manifestation of Sophia (wisdom), came from the true God's realm to deliver mankind from the clutches of the tyrannical god of the Hebrews. The god of the Hebrews, as per Christian Gnosticism, is either ignorant at best or malevolent at worst; he believes that he is the only god and his works are all that are. He forces men to submit to his will and blinds them with the illusions that are our “reality”. Jesus comes from the true world to share gnosis (knowledge, enlightenment) with mankind so that we can see through the illusion that the demiurge – the Hebrew god – pulls over our eyes. He shares this with us because the true god recognizes our potential as beings who possess wisdom and power the demiurge does not have and, as such, recognizes that it is unfair that anything with such capacity does not deserve the true hell that is the wise being ruled by the ignorant or incompetent.

For anyone who has dived into the ‘interstellar communities’ will tell you that there is a star system called Draco. 

Draco is a constellation  in the far northern sky. Its name is Latin for dragon.  And for those interested in, or aware of  the ‘Reptilians‘, these ‘entities are involved with the TOP levels of our government, creating hybrids and other genetic tamperings.

So to call a new drug that cures ALL viruses after a species involved in genetic engineering, which hails from the Draco constellation, has got my alarm bells ringing.  Talk about being infront of your face.

Also of note, The myth of the vampire and of Dracula is the truth of the Reptilians. The myth of Dracula came from the Dracs. Dracula, Draconians. The Reptilians are blood drinkers and shape shifters, can turn into bats, animals and humans and have sex and rape victims like the Reptilians. The Dracs or Dracos are the real vampires. Dracula was a Reptilian. Bram Stoker who wrote Dracula knew of the Reptilians. And he based his story on a Draco he knew. A Draco who told him his story.
